In the absence of Scheduled Tribe candidates, Scheduled Caste candidates will
be considered and viceversa.
Note :- (i) Vacancies reported in writing from the schools under the control of Local Self
Government Institutions shall also be filled up from the Ranked List
prepared as per this notification.
(ii) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the communities other
those notified will summarily be rejected. No rejection memo will be issued
to those candidates.
(iii) Separate Ranked List will be prepared for Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam,
Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts in pursuance
of this notification. Ranked List thus prepared and published by the
Commission shall remain in force until candidates are advised and
appointed against vacancies earmarked for the above communities but
remain unfilled due to the paucity of candidates during the currency of the
Ranked List published for the post in the following districts.

(iv) Applications should not be sent to more than one Districts in response
to this notification. Candidates belonging to the above reservation
group of communities should sent applications to the concerned District
Office where the vacancy is existing for the respective community and
should note the name of that district against the relevant column on
side `B` and darken the relevant bubble on side ‘A’ (OMR sheet) of
the application form. If applications are sent contrary to the above
direction and if he/she is selected, his/her name will be removed from
the Rank List and disciplinary action will be taken against him. The
address of the District Officer to which the applications are to be sent is
furnished in column (11) of the notification.
(v) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a revenue
district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O.(Ms.) No.
154/71/PD., dated 27-5-1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one
revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer
to another district unless he/she completes five years continuous service
from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if
transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules laid down
in G.O.(Ms.) No. 4/61/PD., dated 2-1-1961. Candidates already in
Government service holding this post in any one district are prohibited
from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when
notified.
5. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment. (From Candidates belonging
to reservation group of communities viz, SIUC
Nadar/AI, Dheevara, Other X’ians,Scheduled
Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities only).
(In the absence of candidates belonging to
Scheduled Tribe communities, candidates
belonging to Scheduled Caste will be
considered and viceversa).
6. Age : Should have completed 18 (Eighteen) years of age and should
not have completed 42 (Forty two) years of age in respect of
candidates belonging to SIUC Nadar/AI, Dheevara, Other
X’ians and 44 (Forty four) years of age in respect of Scheduled
Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities as on 01.01.2009.
(Including the relaxation as per para 2(i) of General Conditions)
Note:- For concessions allowed in upper age limit subject to the condition that
the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years of age please see
para 2 (except para 2 (i) of the general conditions under part II of Gazette
notification.
7. Qualificaitons :
1) A pass in SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner
for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
A pass in Pre-Degree Examination conducted by any of the
Universities in Kerala or any Examinations recognized by any such
universities in Kerala as equivalent to Pre-Degree Examination.
OR
A pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of
Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or any other Examinations
recognized by Government as equivalent thereto.
AND
(2) A pass in T.T.C Examination conducted by the commissioner
for Government Examinations, Kerala.
Special Note:-
(a) ‘B.Ed.’ certificate is not acceptable in lieu of ‘T.T.C.’
(b) Candidates who have not studied the Regional Language
‘Malayalam’ either under Part I or Part II or as medium of
instruction of SSLC, will not be eligible for appointment
to the post (G.O (Rt.) No.534/02/G.Edn. dated 19.03.2002.

(c) If a written test is conducted, question paper will be in
Malayalam medium. The candidates should answer the
questions in Malayalam.
8. Special Concessions Regarding Appointment and Age Limit:
(i) Preference will be given as laid down in G.O(Ms)No.50/70/PD dated
12.02.1970 and G.O(Ms)No.9/78/G.EDn. dated 21.01.1978 to the Wives of Jawans
in the matter of recruitment as teachers, if they possess the prescribed
qualification.Soldiers in active service and those working in Base
establishment are included under the term ‘Jawan’. Wives of Jawans should
note on the top of side ‘B’ of the application form that they are “Wives of
Jawans”. Such candidates should obtain proper certificates (true copies) from
the commanding officer stating the name, Military rank and Military address
of their husbands and produce the same as and when called for, (G.O(MS)
No.509/64/Edn. dated19.09.1964, G.O(MS) No.614/65/Edn. Dated 09.11.1965 and
G.O(MS) No.243/66/Edn.dated 27.05.1966).
(ii) First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in the matter of
appointment as Teachers (G.O(MS)No.122/75/G.Edn. Dated 27.05.1975,
G.O.(MS) 50/70/P.D dated 12.02.2970.
Note:- Candidates who claim concessions in lieu of any of the above reason should
state the fact in the relevant column on Side B and darken the bubble on
Side A of (OMR sheet) application form, otherwise the applications are liable
to be rejected presuming that they are over-aged candidates (For other
conditions regarding age relaxation please see para 2 of the General
conditions).
9. How To Apply.
The application form is a single sheet of paper printed on both
sides to facilitate computer processing also using the Optical Mark
Reader (OMR) Side ‘A’ is OMR data sheet and Side ‘B’ is the
conventional application form. Candidates must darken the bubbles on
the side ‘A’ and fill in column on side ‘B’ of the application. Candidates
must fill in both sides of the application. Each application form contains
a unique eight digit barcode on side ‘A’. This barcode is unique for each
application. Candidate has to quote this number for further
communication. The cost of application form is Rs.10 (Rupees Ten only).
Cost of the application form for SC/ST candidates of Kerala State is Rs. 5
(Rupees five only) .The application should be filled in accordance with
the directions contained in the information brochure supplied along with
the application. The application can be obtained from Post Offices in
Kerala and Offices of the Commission.
Note:- (1) Self attested copies of documents to prove, qualification, age,
Community etc., should not be attached with the application.
(2) Applications should be submitted in the form devised and printed by
the KPSC and those applications submitted otherwise will
summarily be rejected.
10. Last date for receipt of applications : 15/07/2009 Wednesday upto 5 PM.
11. Address to which applications are to be sent : District Officers Concerned.
12. Mode of sending applications :
(a) The name of the post, the category number and department of the
respective post should be clearly noted at the top of the envelope.
(b) The name and address of the candidate shall be entered at the bottom
left hand corner and the address to which applications are to be sent at
the bottom right hand corner of the envelope.
Applications are to be addressed to concerned District Officer of K.P.S.C
only; otherwise the applications will summarily be rejected.
